As an artist what do you value most about being an artist?

For me it is my artistic freedom, and my desire not to forfeit my creative freedom because I need the money. Been there done that and it kills your soul. I am unwilling as an artist to go down that path again, I value my artistic, creative freedom too much.

So what is it for you – what do you value the most about being an artist?
