Eccelasties 3: 1-13

“There is a time for….. ” Many of you know in some form or another these often quoted verses in the Bible. I just read these verses in paragraph form and I thought I would share them with you all. It is so rare today for spiritual people to think about their own happiness they are always thinking of others – but it is as these writers state our happiness is”a gift from God.”

“What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race, he has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil – this is the gift of God.” William Douglas and Rubens Teixeira.

You personally cannot make others happy if you yourself are not happy. You need to find your happiness – and share that happiness with others. If you do unto others as you would want them to do unto you – then they too will share their happiness with you once they find it. The key it seems is that they – and only they can find it. As much as we would like to give others the happiness we feel that cannot happen, they need to find it for themselves. And that indeed is a gift of God.
