Juror Katherine Chang Liu accepted into the San Diego Watercolor Societies National Exhibition, ” Northern Lights. Art Association. Katherine Chang Liu has had over 43 national solo exhibitions at museums and university art galleries in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Santa Fe and New Mexico. International, she has had solo exhibitions in Copenhagen, Denmark, Lyon, France; Rome, Italy, Turku, Finland; Hong Kong and Taiwan. Katherine has work in over 1,100 public, corporate and private collections. It is an honor for me to have Juror Katherine Chang Liu choose my work “Northern Lights” into this outstanding exhibition.

This piece is done with many watercolor washes. Each I allowed to dry fully before applying an additional color. The darker area on the bottom of the work was multiple layers of a dark blue wash. The piece has always been one of my favorites no matter what the title of it is.
