Blog: Smooth Rocks from Lake Superior

Smooth rocks from Lake Superior carved by the waves of that powerful water.  A crystal clear cold water, always causes a little shiver to run through my body when I dig my toes into the sand and pebbles that line it’s shore.  That water is so powerful it naturally tumbles the brown stone rocks to a soft round smoothness that is not a natural characteristic of the that rock.

I have collected many of these rocks during my visits to the Superior shoreline. Yesterday I gathered an armful of them and carried them to my studio to become weights to hold my paper flat while I work on it. How glorious it is to have them there and to remind me of the powerful body of water that allows me to stop, take deep breaths and fill myself with it’s energy.
