The Individual: Americas Heart & Soul
Individualism, the rights of people, all people is a sovereign right in the United States, and creative process belongs to a single individual creator.
My painting “Gypsy” represents Americas Heart and Soul. Her individualism is sovereign and belongs to her alone and her creative process in living her life and making it unique is shown in this work.

A Particular Kind of Freedom

A Particular Kind Of Freedom

The feelings linked to freedom, the feelings you get when you hit the open road, the feelings you get when your spirit emerges, the feelings you get when you imagine flighting, or listening to a song that also releases you and the feeling you get when you just create are all experiences and perceptions that make you believe and feel that there are infinite possibilities of things that can be, including yourself.

Play, artistic play and spontaneity are not related to the more contemporary concept of freedom today. Contemporary freedom that is rational, deliberated and an intentional concept is anything but spontaneous. Spontaneous freedom is when we experience visions, ideas coming from ourselves, our souls, our spirits, and are not settled by something that preexists, like identity. Spontaneous freedom is almost transcendent, and it is glorious.

The Decline of Romanticism

The Decline of Romanticism

Featured image: Flowers Along the Road

Ah me, I am lamenting the decline of Romanticism. The decline in the work of art that projects creativity, potential and things that might be. It is the decline of the use of an artist's creative mind that concerns me. There is so much potential in each and every one of us – and yet we do not tap into it . We do not try to imagine.

I like what I do, no I actually love what I do. And, if others don’t like me or what I do, well honestly I’ll try not to let it bother me because it is who I am. It’s me- and that’s it.

Backyard Sunrise

backyard sunrise
completely utters
utters serenely silently.

sphere of puffed up
greens – and miles
and miles
cobalt sky.

There is no hurry
here today
the wind gently
moves and
touches
leaves of green
yellow dusted.

a sliver of silver
tree
beams on the
woods.
Sanctuary spot
to pause and
give thanks.

Fields of Synergism

Fields of Synergism

Individualized synergistic energy. There are so many different words that I could use here. Another one that I like is symbiosis. But bottom line, I am talking about how individual, unique one-of-a-kind people get along in the middle. Each unique individual with their own synergistic energy, flows and enriches the others in the middle. This energy in the middle, nurtures the self-esteem and self-worth of each person in the middle. It is creative and allows for independence and uniqueness to grow. Individualized synergistic energy. There are so many different words that I could use here. Another one that I like is symbiosis. One of the visual images I have for the space in the middle, that is not grey, is a field of wild flowers blooming in the summer filled with various wonderful color.
