Aesthetic moment: Is Art Mysterious?
Posted on July 16 2020
In the 60’s artists sought the pure spirit of “art”. Rothko, Stile, Pollack, Kline, others – they wanted to find that mysterious mystical essence of art. They wanted artistic purity – Art’s self, Art’s soul. Like Einstein they questioned, they looked for the answers of life and art. Like Einstein they never found, but continued to seek. The answer, then and now, is in the artist themselves, in their creation. In creation is artistic purity, the soul of art. It can be found only if it is sought. - Christine Alfery
